This policy explains how Coedit ("Coedit," "we," "us") handles billing, cancellations, and refunds for paid plans. It is part of our Terms of Service. Viewing and commenting on shared links are always free, so this policy applies only to paid plans (such as Pro and Team).
How billing works
Our paid plans are sold and billed through Paddle, our authorized reseller and merchant of record. When you buy a plan, your order is with Paddle, and Paddle handles payment, invoicing, applicable sales tax or VAT, and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to your purchase. The price and billing period (monthly or yearly) shown at checkout are what you pay, and paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
14-day money-back guarantee
If you are not satisfied with your first purchase of a paid plan, you can request a full refund within 14 days of that purchase. This applies to your initial subscription payment. Contact us or Paddle and we will refund it, no long explanation needed.
Renewals and ongoing subscriptions
After the first 14 days, and for automatic renewal payments, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our reasonable discretion (for example, a clear billing error or a duplicate charge). To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before your next billing date. We do not provide prorated refunds for the unused part of a billing period once it has renewed.
How to cancel
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account settings in the app, or by emailing us. When you cancel, you keep access to the paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Cancelling does not automatically refund the current period; if you believe you are owed a refund, use the process below.
How to request a refund
Email hello@coeditapp.com from the address on your account, or use the receipt Paddle emailed you (each receipt links to Paddle's buyer support, which can process a refund directly). Tell us the plan and the charge you want refunded. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method, and how quickly the money appears depends on your bank or card provider, usually within five to ten business days.
Chargebacks
If something looks wrong with a charge, please contact us first. We would much rather fix it quickly than have you open a bank dispute, and we can usually resolve a billing problem faster than a chargeback would.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product and our plans develop. When we make material changes, we will update the date above. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
